F.H. Elliston: Frank Elliston, brother of Billy who was for many years the local postman.
E.J.Knight: Eric Knight, son of John Knight (below); born about 1935, among the first in the village to pass the eleven-plus, he got a good job at ICI, was posted to Slough, and returned here on retirement.
Mr & Mrs G.Cousins: George Cousins was Secretary of the Bacon Factory, a 'lovely chap'; his wife was Andreasen's daughter by his first wife.
Mrs R.Hitchcock: Ivy Hitchcock was a leading light of the Elmswell Amateur Dramatic Society
Mr & Mrs J.Knight: Eric's parents; John was a pillar of local society - member of Oddfellows, led the team building the Memorial Hall etc.
Mrs G.Rawlins: Rawlins lived in Stowe House on Cross Street
J.Binden: Binden was in charge of maintenance for Tate & Lyle's fleet of lorries, and lived in the house on the site up Ashfield Road.

W.Farrow: Billy Farrow was a gardener who lived in Thedwastre Close, a fund of local knowledge
D.Mead: Duggie Mead lived in No.2 Wetherden Road.
R.Miller: Ron Miller, son of Bert Miller who had a family transport firm in Rose Lane. Ronnie broke a leg playing football on Scouts Meadow.
E.Nunn: Edward Nunn was the senior brother of F.J.Nunn & sons
H.P.Oliver: lived at No.2 Wetherden Road
A.Owen: Alec Owen was for a time clerk of the local council.
R.Snell: lived in School Avenue.
E.Spicer: Ted Spicer lived in Wetherden Road; he had 2 sons, one same age as David Hawes went to mixed County Grammar School and became a doctor.
