Bunkers Hill Farm

Dick Burch: “This small farm had about 30 acres of arable land and it was run by Thomas Woolnough with one farm worker, both before and after the war. He had a small dairy herd of about 10 cows. Among his holdings were the four fields across the stream on the Woolpit side; but the building of the then A45 dual carriageway altered things for the farmer. In the early 1960s Basil Jarman was farming here, but in 1965 Jim Baker purchased this small farm and ran it in conjunction with Crossways Farm acquired three years later, and the Kiln Farm in the early 1970s. Bunkers Hill farmhouse itself was/is used as a holiday letting, through Hoseasons.”
