NB: Ashley now has a small museum at his home

February 8th Unfortunately because of adverse weather Roy Tricker’s talk on Eccentric Suffolk Clergy had to be postponed

March 8th Scenes from Suffolk’s Medical History
Talk by Dr Edward Cockayne, starting at 7:30 pm.

April 12th The Yanks are coming
Talk by Linda Scoles, starting at 7:30 pm.

May 10th “Ah yes, I remember it well!”
Another village meeting, a sequel to that held in October 2005, at which long-time villagers discussed the way things used to be 50 or more years ago. This time we will look at the subsequent period, with particular focus on the St Edmundsbury Bacon Factory, which sadly closed in June this year after 95 years as a most important part of the life of our village.

The meeting will be at the Blackbourne Hall, starting informally with drinks and a small exhibition at 7 pm. and the discussion will begin at 7:30.

July 12th
A Group outing to Pakenham Water Mill

September 13th The History of the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds
Talk by Ralph Ambrose starting at about 7:30pm, after our 7:00 AGM
Because of illness this talk was replaced by a members’ discussion

October 11th Eccentric Suffolk Clergy

November 8th The Suffolk Punch horses in agriculture
Talk by Chris Miller, starting at 7:30 pm.

December 13th “Highway Robbery in Hadleigh”
A dramatic presentation by Hadleigh Players starting at 7:30 pm, followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Note that this meeting will be at the Wesley Hall in School Road.
